Frequently Asked Questions

What is LTV?

Loan-to-Value is the loan amount as a percentage of the property or asset value.

What is a good LTV ratio?

A lower LTV means more equity and lower risk. Lenders commonly cap home loans at around 75% to 90% depending on the loan size, and other loans at lower limits.

How does a higher down payment help?

It reduces the loan amount, which lowers your LTV, and can improve your chance of approval and rate.

What does the existing loan balance do?

If the asset already has a loan on it, it is added to the new loan to estimate the combined LTV.

Is the result final?

No. It is an estimate. Actual LTV limits depend on lender policy, valuation and your profile.
