How does the calculator work?
Set the common loan details once, then add each bank’s offer.
- Rate (%): the yearly interest rate offered by the bank.
- Fee (%): processing fee as a percentage of the loan amount.
- Other: any flat charges such as legal or documentation fees.
Formula: EMI = P × r × (1+r)n / ((1+r)n − 1). Total cost = total interest + processing fee + other charges.
Input and output comparison
Example: ₹30,00,000 loan for 20 years.
| Bank | Rate | Monthly EMI | Total Interest | Fees | Total Cost |
|---|
Note: Values depend on lender terms and the interest rate finally approved.
What to compare besides the interest rate
- Processing fee: a lower rate with a high fee can end up costing more.
- Other charges: legal, valuation and documentation fees add to the cost.
- Tenure: keep the tenure the same across banks for a fair comparison.
- Prepayment terms: check penalties and part-payment rules.
Benefits of using the calculator
- Shows the real cost of each offer, not just the EMI.
- Makes it easy to negotiate with lenders using numbers.
- Highlights the best offer and the amount you save.
- Gives a full year-wise repayment schedule for any bank.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a compare bank EMI calculator?
It compares loan offers from different banks for the same amount and tenure, showing EMI, interest, fees and total cost side by side.
Why is the lowest interest rate not always the cheapest loan?
Processing fees and other charges are added to the interest. A slightly higher rate with low fees can cost less overall, so compare total cost.
What is included in the total cost of borrowing?
Total interest paid over the tenure plus the processing fee and any other flat charges. The principal itself is not counted.
Can I compare more than three banks?
Yes. Use "Add Another Bank" to add up to six offers, and remove any offer you no longer need.
Are the results final?
No. They are estimates. The actual EMI and charges depend on the lender, the final interest rate and loan approval terms.
